Old photos:

A selection of the better photos that were taken with my previous Canon A300 digital camera. Scroll down for more images and click on thumbnails to pop-up a larger image.

Strike. Ef and I, both crippled, drove out into the Peak District to watch a forecast storm, which was nice. The strikes were impressive, and I realised that although I only have a basic digital camera, it does have a good video mode. Thus I took a series of video snippets and managed to capture a few strikes, and then edited the appropriate frame as a single image. Cunning eh.

The Two Stoops, Guisecliff, Yorkshire. Taken on a really nice winter's day after a surprise snow blast a few days before. It was great out there, really cold and crisp - must have been below 0'c as my shoelaces kept freezing. Lovely. The Two Stoops are an old folly.

The view from the splendidly peaceful Cwm Dyli boulders, Snowdonia.

Redmire Quarry, North Yorkshire.

kstorm1a
Storm building up behind a cottage in Scotland (no trickery involved). We sat outside for an hour and watched as the storm broke over adjacent hills. Then it hit the house and took down the power, so we went for a pub meal (eventually - most locals were blacked-out or flooded). Upon our return, nearby rivers had risen by a few feet and produced impressive floods, all in a few hours.

harpurpool
The ridiculously vivid pool beneath Harpur Hill quarry near Buxton. Note several dead cars for scale. A white dust covers everything beneath the water. Most strange indeed.

gardomview1
The hand of God bringing light and life to an otherwise dull early February day. Taken from Gardom's Edge, Peak District.

tintcar1
A parking space with a view =). This is below Tintwistle Knarr quarry and gained by an illegal and somewhat hairy drive up a rocky track. Taken at the end of a lovely winter's day.

Pumpkin! First time I've ever carved a pumpkin on my own - was stuck for ideas but I think this worked pretty well (note that it is a pentangle not a pentagram), took ages though. I'm chuffed! See also a frontal view of the design.

Beetle. You can just tell that this one is plotting to rise up, destroy humanity, and take over the world.

Cow nose! I really like cows. They're cute and funny and taste great.

That dog again. In one of her more "pensive" moments.

Cat feets!

Shroooom! Cute eh? Ef looked it up in some funghi encyclopedia she had, and it said "Edibility: Unknown". Hmmmm...

stbees
The St Bees lizard =).

DOGNOSE2
Dognose2. This one belongs to Bria. Do not be fooled by her noble pose. This dog is an idiot

snailtrail
Snail traaaaaiiill. Perculiar creatures.

slug
Slug trail. Yummm. Funny how it just starts in the middle of nowhere on the stone...

DOGNOSE!
Dognose! Belonged to Ben III [ 1989 - 2003 RIP ]. He was getting quite old when I took this unplanned fluke shot. I love it. DOGNOSE!!!

beetle
Beetling along... Taken under the same conditions and the beetle was walking at the same time so quite a lucky shot.

caterpillar
A quite striking caterpillar. Taken in grey and windy conditions, it took me a fair bit of experimenting to get it right.
